Maria repeatedly participated in National and International Plein Air (Ukraine, Montenegro, Russia, and Poland). In 2011 she worked on the design of the Historical and Archaeological Museum of Macedonia, Skopje.

Chepeleva observes nature in naturalistic and realistic way: she is the artist who paints dogs, cats, flowers, portraits, still-lives, and Crimea’s corners with houses and trees. She is a very versatile artist, equally dealing with various themes & genders.  Her paintings are always followed by certain warmth and sense of belonging. She treats depicted animals in a special way – they are active participants in the scene, not just neutral, sporadic elements. Earthen tones are frequent choices in Maria’s palette; the peace is read from her art, sometimes violated by explosive paint: not to disturb the balance, but to establish a compositional and coloristic-interesting painting solution. Because of its nature, her art easily communicates with the observer and appears to be very approachable and pleasant.

Maria is the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 2012) and of the Union of Artists of Russia (since 2015). Her works can be found in private collections in Russia, Ukraine, near and far abroad, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine (Kiev) and in the International Fund “Cultural Heritage” (St.-Petersburg, Russia).
