Duo Exhibition "Rebirth" 26th Jan - 1st Mar, 2017

The new exhibition at N2N Gallery: “Rebirth” by Petro Bevza and Oleksiy Lytvynenko

N2N Gallery is proud to announce the new exhibition “Rebirth” which showcases two of the most prominent contemporary Ukrainian artists: Petro Bevza and Oleksiy Lytvynenko.  Following their notable participation at last year’s Abu Dhabi Art 2016 with a joint project “Grass. Spaces of Gravity”, N2N Gallery will be introducing their new collections of paintings.

For the very first time in the Middle East, N2N Gallery will showcase the paintings of Oleksiy Lytvynenko, the artist who tends to reproduce in his works the harmony of existence.  The collection “Buds” is the result of artist’s careful observation of cyclical process occurring in nature. Observing how spring rebirths plants, Lytvynenko focuses on the cosmology of minor events and things, erasing the boundaries between the micro and the macro worlds.

The exhibition also features the works of Petro Bevza, which taken from different cycles, but with a main focus on “Fountains” cycle. The artist was attracted by the dynamic image of the movable water as the symbol of a longevity and irresistible force. Bevza manages to reflect in his paintings endlessness of the source of all alive on our planet. Likewise, he refers to the forgotten heritage of the ancient Rome that has left behind extraordinary architectural achievements, which were often decorated with fountains.

Merging the symbols of flower buds and water, this exhibition concept seeks to expose the presence of a miracle in our everyday life as well as the art images that showcase the miracle that we consist of. Having an exceptional visual strength, Lytvynenko’s and Bevza’s artworks turn into a magic key that opens the door of the mind and includes the spectator into out-of-language circle of experience.

Oleksiy Lytvynenko was born in 1961 in Kiev, Ukraine. He graduated from Kiev State Arts Academy in 1985. Since his student days, he has actively participated in prestigious national and international exhibitions. Having a nature, depersonalized teacher, as a role model, according to the laws of similarity, Lytvynenko rejects expressive form and gestures as characteristic feature of transition of an invariable object in the environment. He is interested in the internal motion in time, similar to the lifecycle of plants, where the external transformation is the result of deep internal changes. He is the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (NUAU) since 1992. His works are kept in the private and public collection worldwide.

Petro Bevza was born in 1963 in Kiev, Ukraine. He joined the Kiev Art Institute in 1979. His progression as an artist has been fascinating and phenomenal, gaining worldwide success, with his unique expressionistic art that has evolved and transformed across more than two decades. His works deal with deep emotions and ideas, but his works have been stripped away of everything unnecessary, leaving behind only the essence, untarnished by the insufficiencies of the modern world. He is considered among the top 5 contemporary Ukrainian artists, selling at international auctions and exhibiting in USA, Canada, and Europe – most recently in New York.
