Make art inspired by a selection of artists & cultures from around the globe!

Each day artists will be enjoy fun ways to make art while being introduced to the artwork of artists representing countries from around the world such as France, Italy, Japan, Africa, Mexico, America and the Middle East.  Artists will be able to explore different art styles and learn techniques with materials like sumi-e bamboo brushes & ink, block printing, clay making, drawing with pastels, oil crayons and charcoal creating their own masterpieces and fun crafts representative of   various Eastern and Western cultures.

Estimated list of materials:

– Drop cloths, newspaper, stacks of old magazines, acrylic & tempera paints, scissors, hole punch.

– Coloured tissue paper, wax crayons, aluminium foil, watercolour paper, brushes water colours, coloured string/yarn, coloured construction paper, glue, cardboard, rice paper, bamboo brushes, ink food colouring, flour salt.

– Cups for water, bowls for mixing, small canvases, paper for painting & drawing, small sketch book, pastels, charcoal, erasers, sharpie markers.

Teacher: Laurette Kovary

Laurette Kovary holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, graduating cum laude in 1981 with concentrations in drawing and painting, earning a Ford Foundation grant post-graduation that marked her beginning career as a professional artist.

Laurette Kovary has become an expert in murals, mosaics, collage and constructs, design and 3D decorative expressions with over 33 years of experience in the field of art. Following her interests, also led to the creation of her own jewellery design, clothing decoration and faux finishing businesses that helped sustain her need to create and make a living while juggling motherhood and a career in art.
