Discovering the Metaphysical Landscape – master classes with Petro Bevza, one of the top contemporary Ukrainian artists; participant in international exhibitions and auctions.

Calling all aspiring and established artists in Abu Dhabi: get creative and open your heart and mind to the power of art. It is a rare occurrence for artist Petro Bevza to run a master class, so take the opportunity and be inspired! Learn from and work with one of the top contemporary artist of Ukraine – discover a new world within yourself, express it on a canvas, and exhibit your work in a public group art exhibition.

The master class will run from 24th to 29th of April, with morning and evening sessions to choose from.

In Petro Bevza´s series of artworks, seemingly unrelated characters, objects and places have a connection. Petro Bevza looks beyond what the eye is used to perceiving, in to the metaphysical landscape  – in his art every being possesses an inner light that leaves a trace in its surroundings, everything that exists, exists simultaneously in different places in time and universe, all in a cosmic connection, one affecting the other. Every moment, place, thing or a person is an opportunity to begin to play, like a child starting a new game.

The philosophical awareness of Petro Bevza is at the core of his art, the building of bridges between worlds – finding that mind set, the spiritual creative self, is one of the things the master class is inviting the students to explore. Petro Bevza will teach his techniques of creative expression, specifically his unique technique that consists of glazing and of layering and mixing of mediums – transparent oil paints, acrylic paints, and mineral pigments. Students will learn how to build material forms through a highly creative and technical process, working on large canvases using a multitude of colours.

Course outline:

Learning the 3 step method of Metaphysical Landscape:

  • Method of reasoning
  • Glazing, layering of paints
  • Giving material shape to abstract forms

The sessions will focus on creating several paintings, in the process which will consist of discussion, training, technical assignments, and painting.

Morning sessions:  10.00 to 13.00

Evening sessions:   18.30 – 21.30

Morning sessions: N2N Gallery, Nation Towers Galleria, Corniche, Abu Dhabi
