Exploring landscape and still life with the celebrated Ukrainian artist Tetyana Yagodkina

N2N gallery is delighted to invite the accomplished artist Tetyana Yagodkina from Kiev, Ukraine, to Abu Dhabi once more. This time to offer the residents two different master classes: one in landscape and other in still life.

Taking place in N2N Gallery in Nation Towers Galleria on the Corniche on 20^th -25^th of March, there will be two courses running – landscape in the mornings (10.00 – 13.00) and still life in the evenings (18.00 – 21.30). In each case the students will complete one final piece accompanied by several sketches and etudes.

Tetyana Yagodkina, who works in different genres and is known for her colorful and emotional oil paintings, will be conducting a mixture of plein air and in studio painting.

Tetyana Yagodkina has a Master with Honors in fine arts, earning the highest mark upon graduation. She is a qualified lecturer and the winner of several awards including the presidential grant in Ukraine, with over 120 exhibitions and works displayed in museums in Ukraine, Macedonia and Serbia.  Her works stand out with her signature style of eye catching landscapes, still life and figurative works. Her style is known to incorporate several techniques she has invented over the years of painting, creating unexpected textures and light effects in her pieces. In the UAE, her paintings have proven to be popular with Emiratis and expats alike.

About the courses:

The landscape course which will take place in the mornings will focus on themes of space, scale, aerial perspective and specifications of solar illumination, with the motives of water and palm trees.  The course will consist of painting in the open air, for enhanced observational experience, and studio work.

The still life course, where the subjects will include white objects on colored background, illuminated by a cold lit lamp, will allow the students to observe the interplay of objects with the light and their environment. Under the teacher’s guidance the students will focus on capturing the color variations of light on white objects, the relationship of light and shadow, the effect of color on color, gradation, environment, color space and reflexes. The course will be carried out indoors.

The final works of students will be displayed at a week- long group exhibition at Nation Galleria!
