Biography

Klim Stepanov was born in in Odessa, Ukraine in 1974 to famous Odessa sculptor Nikolai Stepanov. He knew from an early age that his meaning in life was to be an artist. Stepanov graduated from the Sculpture Faculty at the Odessa State Art University in 1994. He pursued his studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kiev, where later on he became an assistant. After that, his commitment to the academic world made him continue as a lecturer at the Odessa State Art University.

His sculptures are intimate, neat and quiet; there are no unnecessary moves or drama in them. The reduced form of his sculpture is the result of deep philosophical reflections. He puts accents precisely and interprets form without extra elaboration outlining simple graphic silhouettes; without excess detail, as well as without narration, all the characters in his artistic work have a complex emotional set.

His works are in private collections in France, Ukraine, Germany, UAE and USA
