Alexander Tyunkin was born in 1986 in Melitopol, Ukraine. In 2002 he entered the Crimean Art College. 2006 -2012 he was a student of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts.

Since 2012 Alexander is a Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and from 2015 Member of the Union of Artists of Russia.

He has been exhibiting actively since 2007. He is the winner of several awards, with over 100 exhibitions across the world and works displayed as well as in private collections in Russia, Ukraine, and elsewhere.

About the Exhibition:

Tyunkin’s art is focused on nature: he follows its beauty and humor, justifying that it has never been cliched, but implausibly surprising forever. His muse persists to be his beloved Crimea, every corners of it, unfolding graciously in his paintings.

As a dynamic and evolving maestro, his salient style involves stroking the brush profusely and boldly, indeed evoking the mere subtleties in the composition, meanwhile maintaining the discipline over his adored colours. In this series, Tyunkin intends to explore the rambling light and its elusive nature. Light flows and fades erratically, portraying momentary panoramas throughout the day. The artist adopted the remarkable challenge of apprehending these visual moments and depicting them in his paintings. Each work in the series denotes a passive and fleeting instant in a day, or probably, every day. He maneuvers with the intangible rays of light and harmonizes them with the fugitive environment around him bringing forth unpretentious ordinariness of our lives on a canvas.

To create an extraordinary painting employing the most basic and humble elements is not just audacious but invests conception and artistry in abundance. Tyunkin displays enduring talent in successfully materializing this approach in his series.
